ABU DHABI - The Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed arrived in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday on a state visit.

Upon Al Bateen Airport, he was received by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The pair then went to the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre to visit some of the athletes competing in the Special Olympic World Games.

The Ethiopian premier is on a tour of the region and yesterday visited Qatar, where he met with Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad.

PM Abiy last visited the Emirates in July, when he and Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki were honored with the UAE’s highest civil honor.
