NAIROBI, Kenya – A Nairobi court on Wednesday heard gruesome details of how a man allegedly killed his girlfriend, boiled her body parts and attempted to dispose of the remains at a cemetery, prosecutors said.

Hashim Dagane Muhumed, also known as Hashim Mohamed Khalif, is accused of murdering Deka Abdi Noor Gorane on the night of October 29–30, 2024, at Valley Heights Apartments in the Lavington area of Nairobi. He is also accused of killing three other women earlier in October.

Senior Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions Gikui Gichui told the court Dagane allegedly killed Deka to cover up evidence of the previous murders.

“The accused girlfriend, Deka Abdi Noor Gorane, was the fourth victim whose body was mutilated, boiled and the remains dumped at Lang’ata Cemetery,” Gichui said.

CCTV footage presented by Corporal Lawrence Kamau showed a small car parked on Sixth Avenue in Parklands at 04:36 a.m., later reversing and running over an object identified as a human body.

Footage also showed Dagane carrying two black bags toward a lift at Valley Heights Apartments on October 31, 2024, one resembling a bag Deka had previously carried from a nearby Quick Mart supermarket.

“My lady, we observed the man closely inspecting the items he was carrying while waiting at the lift area,” Kamau testified.

Dagane’s trial is ongoing as prosecutors continue to present evidence linking him to the killings, which have shocked the Nairobi community.
