Ethiopia's deputy PM arrives in Tanzania as part of a visit to four African countries

Addis Ababa – The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Demeke Mekonnen, has arrived in Tanzania as part of his official working visit to four African countries.

It is noted that DPM & FM Demeke’s working visit also includes trips to Comoros, Burundi, and Uganda.

Following his arrival in Dodoma, Demeke met with Tanzanian President, Samia Suluhu on bilateral and regional issues.

In their discussion, Demeke underscored that Ethiopia will pay attention to its relations with Tanzania.

He pointed out that Ethiopia wants the relationship between the two countries to be strengthened in the economic field as well.

Demeke said that the Ethiopian government is committed to establishing lasting peace in the country by implementing the Pretoria Peace Agreement.

He mentioned that issues related to the Grand Renaissance Dam (GERD) are being resolved through dialogue under the auspices of the African Union.
