Somalia: Puntland Vice President visits Buhodle

GAROWE, Puntland- A delegate led by the Vice President of Somalia’s semi-autonomous region of Puntland, Abdihakim Abdulahi Haji “Amy” traveled to Buhodle district on Monday, Garowe Online reports.
Puntland's delegate aiming to closely assess the humanitarian crisis in the region, as dozen people died recently following a cholera outbreak in Buhoodle town due to lack of clean water.
Speaking to the local media before departure, Vice President Aamy said that the delegate is delivering a humanitarian supplies to the drought-stricken region.
“We are delivering large supplies of medicine and food to about 1,500 families in Buhodle town,” added Aamy. The humanitarian aid were donated by several local charities including Al Minhaj organization, according to Puntland Vice President.
He said the government is following-up with the situation in the drought-hit areas and urged the public to double efforts to help drought victims.
Vice President's visit comes amid intensified humanitarian aid by many international and local charities working in Puntland and Somaliland regions, helping people in Buhodle town in the past weeks.
