ADADO, Somalia - The MPs of Somalia's central semi-autonomous region of Galmudug have over overwhelmingly approved the new cabinet ministers proposed by President Ahmed Dualle Gelle "Haaf" on Saturday, Garowe Online reports.

The state Parliament Speaker Ali Ga'al Asir said 52 lawmakers voted in favor of the cabinet, with only 5 legislators voting against it. Only 57 members have attended the session Today's endorsement session.

President Haaf and his vice President Mohamed Hashi Arabey who were present during the vote, have thanked the regional parliamentarians for the approval of the new 22-member cabinet of the Federal state.

The Cabinet was sworn into office immediately after gaining the vote of confidence from the assembly. Now, they can legally take up the oath of office and begin their work in a ministerial capacity.

Ahlu Sunna, an armed moderate Islamist group which controls large swathes of territory in Galgaduud region, including the state's Capital, Dhusamareb town has no any members in the President Haaf's list of cabinet ministers.

Some lawmakers opposed the line-up on the grounds it mainly composed of Ministers served in the last government led by Ex President, Abdikarim Hussein Guled, who quit in February over health issue.
